Hosted by Alan Robertson & Andrew Cowderoy
Optional VIP whisky experience curated by Mark Thomson
Day One A Gentle Arrival
The journey begins at Euston Station, where guests meet Alan Robertson, our rail and logistics host, before boarding the Caledonian Sleeper north. Through the night, the train carries you quietly out of London and into the Highlands, a slow, soothing transition between worlds. At dawn, the landscape changes: moorland, forests, and open sky. Arriving at Carrbridge, you’ll be greeted by Andrew and welcomed into the Highlands. From here, the journey unfolds by in a classic Range Rover Vogue, gliding cross-country past Lochindorb, an ancient landscape of castles and reflection.
We pause at Logie Steading for a relaxed Highland breakfast and a short river walk time to stretch your legs and take in the stillness after the train. The road then leads east to your Hotel, where you’ll check in and have time to refresh, shower, and unwind before the afternoon’s activities.
In the afternoon, enjoy a private VIP tour at Johnstons of Elgin, a rare, behind-the-scenes experience inside Scotland’s most renowned cashmere mill. Witness the craftsmanship behind fine Scottish textiles before returning to Nairn for a late lunch or early dinner, concluding the day in comfort and quiet reflection.
The evening is kept gentle a warm meal, soft conversation, and an early night ahead of the next day’s journey deeper into Scotland.
Day Two The Spirit of Scotland
After a leisurely breakfast, guests set off for a Highland whisky experience, a day of discovery through distilleries and landscapes.
Without the upgrade, the itinerary includes visits to two to three distilleries, including one in-depth tour of whisky production and two contrasting tastings, each highlighting a different character of Scotland’s national spirit. Lunch is enjoyed en route at a local inn or distillery restaurant before returning to Nairn for a short rest and transfer to Inverness Station, where you’ll board the Caledonian Sleeper south.
For those choosing the VIP bolt-on experience, day two is curated by Mark Thomson, Keeper of the Quaich and Boath Adventures whisky host. Mark joins the group for dinner on the first evening to share stories and insight, then accompanies the full second day’s journey — providing exclusive access, private tastings, and introductions at some of the Highlands’ most respected distilleries.
If time allows, a short cultural visit to a nearby castle or historic house may be added before your return to Caledonian Sleeper south to London
