Andrew Cowderoy
Des Andrew Cowderoy’s story is deeply rooted in the sea, the hills, and the wild beauty of the Scottish Highlands. With over 166 years of maritime heritage in his family and a lineage coloured by the Scottish Colourists, his roots run deep in Scotland’s west coast. Educated at Gordonstoun, Andrew grew up sailing the Moray Firth, exploring the Western Isles, and embarking on global voyages. He went on to train as a navigating officer at sea and as an instructor in skiing, sailing, kayaking, and canoeing — guiding groups from the Trossachs to the Rocky Mountains.
When health reasons brought him ashore, he founded a wellbeing company supporting seafarers through training and technology. In 2020, Andrew returned with his family to the Highlands, settling in Nairn, where he rekindled his love of wild landscapes, photography, and a slower rhythm of life.
Today, through Boath Adventures, Andrew curates bespoke journeys that blend maritime heritage, cultural appreciation, and outdoor skill. His experiences are immersive, authentic, and discreetly luxurious, from tracing sea lochs and driving remote tracks to sharing whisky by firelight. He invites guests to see Scotland as he does: a wild, welcoming, and unforgettable place.cription goes here

Alan Robertson
Rail, Logistics & Journey Host
Alan Robertson, born and raised in Glasgow, carries forward a family tradition that stretches across generations of Scottish transport developers and managers.
With rail and sea in his blood, he has spent several decades in the field of logistics — moving people and assets around the world with precision, foresight, and calm authority.
His expertise spans complex project planning, global supply chains, and the fine detail of getting individuals safely and smoothly from A to B. Alan’s career has been built on understanding timetables, routes, and flows not just as lines on a map, but as living systems to be navigated and optimised. In recent years, he has turned his focus back to Scotland, applying that lifetime of knowledge to reveal what can be achieved in just a day or two by train.
With Alan’s guidance, the romance and efficiency of Scotland’s railways become the backbone of curated journeys that show the country in an entirely new way.

Mark Thomson
Whisky & Scottish Heritage Host
Having begun his hospitality career in Glasgow, before moving to London hotels and bars over 20 years ago, Mark's passion for whisky is deep-rooted and he has always strived to open up the category and demystify the drink whenever possible to those who are interested in learning more.
Inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich in 2019 and awarded Ambassador of the year three times by Whisky Magazine, taking the global title in 2023. Mark is well known and respected in the industry as is his humorous and sideways look at whisky.
After a decade representing Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky across many parts of the world, he now resides in his home country of Scotland, continuing to fly the flag for whisky with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
As a keen outdoor pursuits guy, when not chatting about or drinking whisky, you’ll most probably find him running over Scotland’s beautiful mountains and glens with his two German Pointer dogs by his side or wild camping in some hidden glen.
